INTO THE RING
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Welcome to the Pro Wrestling FAQ. This FAQ covers one of the few wrestling
games for the Sega Master System, Pro Wrestling. I personally own this
game and saw that it was on the SMS request list. The result is this FAQ.
So step into the ring and enjoy.
______________
THE MAIN EVENT
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
PRO WRESTLING(TM)

It's the video match of the year. A no-holds-barred battle between you and
a friend, or some of the biggest bruisers this side of Madison Square
Garden.

Just try to pin The Iron Soldier. Or wiggle away from The Giant Bull. Or just
survive the cruel Crusher Brothers.

Body slam. Drop kick. Pile drive. You'll even have the notorious German
Suplex Hold. All at your command.

Go for the title. Mexican League, Pacific Leagues or World League. Whatever
you, play rough. Play to win.

-- From the Pro Wrestling box
________
THE GAME
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Succeeding in the world of Pro Wrestling is like climbing a tall ladder.
To get to the top, you'll have to make your way up the ranks, rung by rung
and match by match. If you want to be a champion several times over, it'll
take training, intelligence and instinct. You will also need a pair of fast
thumbs.

To become a major player in this game, you'll have to pick a tag team and
take them to the top. It won't be easy. You'll have to beat three of the
toughest teams in the world to take their titles. On top of that, you'll
have to beat them in 10 Fall matches. In other words, you'll have to wrestle
and pin them for the 3 count 10 times to win. I never said that beating them
would be a cakewalk. Each team has their own special, devastating manuevers
that will leave you down for the count.

Have no fear though. Your tag team has its own array of powerful attacks that
can do some major damage. Good teamwork and in-ring smarts will keep you on
your two feet. The last thing you want is being on your back with your video
opponent slobbering over you.

The Belts:
1. Mexican League Title
This is the first title you wrestle for. The opponent you face varies from
every game.

2. Pacific League Title
You wrestle for this prestigious title in beautiful Hawaii.

3. World League Title
The most prized title in the wrestling business, you wrestle for the big
one in New York City.

Here's how points are awarded:
Punch - 100 pts.
Chairshot - 100 pts.
Kick - 200 pts.
Body Attack - 200 pts.
Turnbuckle Attack - 400 pts
Special Technique - 400 pts.
Pin - 800 pts.

_________
THE MOVES
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

Each tag team has their own powerful moves.

BASIC MOVES
-----------
All the tag teams have these moves in common.

Punch -- Button 1
Kick -- Button 2

Toss opponent into the ropes -- Tap Button 1

Climb Turnbuckle -- Button 2 (with direction)
[Only the Crush Brothers and the Orient Express can climb the turnbuckle.]

Attack opponent with chair -- Button 1 (with chair in hand)
[Only the Mad Soldiers and the Great Maskmen can use chairs.]

Tag in Partner -- Button 2 (with direction)
Pin Opponent -- Button 2 (opponent on mat)

SPECIAL TECHNIQUES
------------------
Each wrestler has their own special techniques. See each wrestler's profile
for information.

Technique A -- press and hold Button 1 for about 2 seconds
Technique B -- Button 1 when opponent rebounds off ropes
Technique C -- Button 2 when opponent rebounds off ropes

*NOTE* Technique A only works when your opponent is on the mat.
_________
THE TEAMS
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
To get to the top, you'll have to wrestle the best tag teams in the world.
Don't worry, because you'll have one of those four teams under your control.
Choose wisely though, because each team has its strengths and weaknesses.

The first member of the team introduced starts out the match in the ring
while the second waits on the apron, waiting to be tagged in.

******************
*The Mad Soldiers*
******************
These insane misfits are pumped-up and always ready for battle. While not
the most technically sound wrestlers, they are quite powerful and very intense.
They are extremely ruthless and will stop at nothing to get a win.
Even if it means introducing a chair into the action.

Muscle Soldier -- The more powerful member of this duo has a bunch of
devastating, smash mouth moves.

Technique A: Knee Drop
Technique B: Lariat
Technique C: Knee Butt

Iron Solder -- True to his name, the iron soldier is a solid wrestler in the
ring. His neck breaker drop is one of the most feared moves in the sport.

Technique A: Elbow Drop
Technique B: Elbow Smash
Technique C: Neck Breaker Drop

****************
*Orient Express*
****************
Mixing speed and power, this team from deep in the Orient is a powerful fire
and ice combination. The young Dragonfly's quickness and martial arts
knowledge, combined with Giant Bull's power moves and experience make this
pair one of the most feared in the business.

Dragonfly -- The younger member of the Orient Express may be inexperienced
in the ring, but he more than makes up for it with his confidence, quickness
and martial arts moves.

Technique A: Giant Swing
Technique B: Karate Punch
Technique C: Rolling Sobat Kick

Turnbuckle Attack: Body Attack

Giant Bull -- While he may be old and grizzled, Giant Bull still has a good
number of years left in this business. His power and in-ring smarts make him
the perfect complement to his faster, more impetuous protege Dragonfly.
Once he locks in that Boston Crab, get ready to hear the three count.

Technique A: Boston Crab
Technique B: Body Attack
Technique C: Neck Breaker Drop

Turnbuckle Attack: Body Attack

*******************
*The Great Maskmen*
*******************
Coming from deep in Asia, the Great Maskmen are shrouded in mystery, their
identities concealed behind their masks. It is not a mystery though that
they can wrestle. They have a great combination of power and finesse
moves that match up to any duo.

Green Mask -- Not much is known about the Green Mask, except that his
Karate Kick will leave you laying.

Technique A: Body Slam
Technique B: Karate Kick
Technique C: Drop Kick

Stone Head -- Rumor has it that this member of the maskmen got his nickname
because of his tendency to walk into telephone poles.

Technique A: Pile Driver
Technique B: Cross Chop
Technique C: Flying Head Butt

********************
*The Crush Brothers*
********************
Never has a tag team been more aptly named. From Europe, the Crush Brothers
have a variety of punishing moves that can cause a lot of damage. Both the
younger and older brothers mix power moves with high-flying moves for a
most lethal combo that means the worst for whoever they face.

Elder Crusher -- More of a veteran that his younger brother, the Elder
Crusher will not only give his opponents a sound beating, he will make
it look easy.

Technique A: Brain Buster
Technique B: Shoulder
Technique C: Drop Kick

Turnbuckle Move: Senton

Younger Crusher -- The younger Crusher brother is known to be extremely
cocky. Not only does he possess great technical wrestling skill, but he
also possesses good looks. The ladies love him for that and he won't let
you forget it. However underestimate this golden boy and you'll be in fer
a long match.

Technique A: German Suplex Hold
Technique B: Knee Butt
Technique C: Neck Breaker Drop

Turnbuckle Move: Knee Drop
________
THE TIPS
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
-> Set your opponent up with your punches and kicks to knock them down. When
they're down, apply your A Technique. You can pin them for the sure three
count when they're energy bar is in the red.

-> If you're low on energy, tag to your partner. While a wrestler in on the
apron, he slowly regains his energy.

-> Speaking of tagging in, the CPU will tag out if his current wrestler is
getting his butt whomped. Try to either stop him from retreating to his
corner by using a body attack and whipping him into the ropes if he's
on the mat...

-> Or you can always make him tag back the other wrestler back in. When
he tags out to wrestler with more energy, tag your partner in. The CPU will
almost always tag the other, more injured wrestler back in. You can then
tag your partner back in if you want and continue the match.

-> As you advance to different rounds against your opponents, they will get
up much faster from your punches and kicks. So as you get into later rounds,
don't apply your Technique A until you've taken off a good amount of their
energy.

-> To step out of the ring during a match, go to the bottom rope, press
down and Button 1. You can sometimes find a weapon on the floor. Be careful
not to run into the wall with a body attack though, it'll cause some damage
to your wrestler. You can only stay out of the ring for 20 seconds, or you'll
get counted out and your opponent will win by default.

A MESSAGE FROM SEGA(tm)
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
We have designed Pro Wrestling to mimic the antics of those crazy wrestlers
often seen on television. These fellows are trained in the art of making
things *look* a lot more painful than they are. No one is really getting
his "neck broken" or his "head busted." Therefore, never, ever try any of
those techniques on a real person! They are completely "made-up" and have
no basis in reality.

Besides, violence is no substitute for peaceful communication.

From all of us at Sega... Thanks!
