The Colonel's Bequest (e)

Cover
This is just a bit of help for those who would like to become a "Super-Sleuth"
in R.William's "Colonel's Bequest". It gives you the answer to all your
notepad's "blanks", and how to get those answers.

Before giving you the way to fill all your notepad's "blaks", I shortly explain
here the story of Sarah Crouton (as I know many people have been having problems
with that part of the game). You will start to discover this sad story in the
chapel, by removing some strange flooboards with your crowbar. There you will
find a Bible, and a letter, which (I summarize) gives you 2 hints on how to
discover ??? something. One referes to the armor in the hallway (oil the helmet,
then open it, in order to find another message, as well as valve handle) and the
other to the bell (oil it, then pull the rope with the cane found in one of the
secret passages at 9:00. DON'T stand under the bell! You will find a crank). You
will then be able to access a secret passage in the hedge garden, using the
valve handle on the base of the statue, and you will be able to explore this
secret passage using the crank in a wall (there's a big hole, you can't miss
it). You will enventually access the Crouton's crypt and in the tomb of Ruby
Crouton (who doesn't exist, since he's not mentioned in the family Bible. open
the tomb with the crowbar) you will find jewels. Solving those puzzles, is not
necessary to end the game, but very important to become a "Super-Sleuth".

OK, now to the notepad (you need to have all these answers to become a "Super-
Sleuth")

* Celie (get her necklace from the doghouse [throw the bone to the dog] and give
it back to her, from 9:00)

before the clock strikes the next quarter)

* Wilbur (often in the chapel)
* Gloria (in the gazebo or in the well)
* Ethel (often in the rose garden)

* Hedge garden (use the valve handle on the base of the statue. You will need a
lit lamp to go down there [the lamp can be taken after having given a carrot to
Blaze, the matches are on Clarence's body]. I advise you to explore this passage
as soon as you get the matches, otherwise you will come too late to save the
Colonel)

OBJECTS USED MORE THAN ONCE
* Crackers (give one to Polly every hour)
* Oilcan (oil the armor's helmet and the bell)

begins all the Sarah Crouton story)

Follow them in the house until they decide to go to the dining room. Spy on them

Colonel's room, at the end of the game, just before going to the attic [I know

TIME OF THE FIRST VISIT TO THE ATTIC
* 9:45 (the key is in the small canon, on the fireplace. you have to go to the
attic as soon as possible in order to be a "Super-Sleuth")

Well, that's all, I hope it will be of some help.
