Cruis'n World FAQ

--------------------------------------------------------------
Introduction
--------------------------------------------------------------
Tomorrow, I have to return Cruis'n World, and I'm making a FAQ about it.
Really, there's nothing else to say. It's a great game if you have a Rumble
Pak. Yadda yadda yadda, no one's reading this anyway, I just make it to help
out my Faq-making career. This one puts me at about 150K contributed to
GameFAQs.

Version Update
--------------------------------------------------------------
Version 1.0: March 9, 1999- Added everything, and I probably won't make an
update unless I'm flooded with E-Mail.

The Cars
--------------------------------------------------------------
Some of the cars are secret, so here's the info on how to acquire the new
ones. First, start your game and go to practice cruise. Use the car of your
choice, and beat the three laps in a combined time less than these...

Track Time Car

      Australia 1:49 Surgeon
        China 1:14 Enforcer
      Egypt 1:07 Skool Bus
      England 1:46 Bulldog
  France 2:15 Tommy
          Germany 2:27 New York Taxi
       Hawaii 3:47 Monsta
        Japan 2:48 Rocket
        Kenya 2:06 Conductor
   Mexico 1:46 Howler
         New York 2:11 Grass Hopper
   Russia 1.58 Rocket

They're not necessarily BETTER than the other cars, but they're still cool.
Now, since I only rented the game, but kept the instruction manual, I can give
the info only on the normal cars. I apologize. Here's the key...

Car Name
Top Speed
Skidpad (less=better)
Aero Coeff (more=better)
Acceleration (0-60)
Power
My Comments

Banzai GTV
Top Speed: 145MPH/233KPH
Skidpad: 0.89G
Aero Coeff: 0.39
Acceleration: 2.88 seconds
Power: 510 HP V8
My Comments: A great car, especially for beginners. Good on straight tracks
with some jumps (Germany). Looks cool too.

Zombie
Top Speed: 147MPH/236KPH
Skid Pad: 0.85G
Aero COeff: 0.25
Acceleration: 3.15 seconds
Power: 3800cc 24V6
My Comments: Ugly and bad. Horrible acceleration, a bad coeff, and sad to look
at. It's best quality is it's skidpad, but that's probably the least important
factor, except in maybe Mexico. The saving grace of the Zombie is it's ramming
ability. Ram cars from the side and watch them fade away. Well, it's speed is
nice, but with slow acceleration, you'll never reach that anyways.

Orca
Top Speed: 144MPH/231KPH
Skidpad: 1.01G
Aero Coeff: 0.28
Acceleration: 2.88 seconds
Power: 382HP V12
My Comments: A very well rounded car. Not outstanding at anything, but not bad
in anything except maybe the horrendous skidpad. I never use it though, too
average.

Stallion P6
Top Speed: 145MPH/233KPH
Skidpad: 0.89G
Aero Coeff: 0.39
Acceleration: 2.98 Seconds
Power: 600cc Nitrous Injected
My Comments: I like this car a lot. Superb acceleration, good looks, nice
coeff, solid speed. Use it, unless you are in a heavy traffic level, where the
Stallion really suffers.

El Nino
Top Speed: 145MPH/233KPH
Skidpad: 0.89G
Aero Coeff: 0.39
Acceleration: 2.98 Seconds
Power: 242HP V8
My Comments: SWEET! Look at this baby! And it has a good skidpad to boot! The
only thing I can say is use it! Nice rammer as well.

Rhino 4X4
Top Speed: 142MPH/228KPH
Skidpad: 0.98G
Aero Coeff: 0.45
Acceleration: 2.51 Seconds
Power: Supercharged V12
My Comments: This one doesn't have a good speed, but it gets up there quick.
Of course, a bad skidpad and aero coeff make this good for short, tight
courses like China where it can knock out the competition.

Sardine Extreme
Top Speed: 147MPH/236KPH
Skidpad: 0.85G
Aero Coeff: 0.25
Acceleration: 3.15
Power: Twin Turbo V6
My Comments: Hehe, this car looks FUNNY! Try out tricks with it. Great speed,
but let's work on that acceleration a bit. Thank god for nitros to use. Bad
coeff, unfortunately.

Road King
Top Speed: 144MPH/231KPH
Skidpad: 1.01G
Aero Coeff: 0.28
Acceleration: 2.88 Seconds
Power: V12 DOHC 48V
My Comments: Well, this car sure LOOKS like it would be cool. Of course, it
has a rather low top speed, the worst skidpad of the cars, and one of the
worst aero coeffs. Never use this unless you're in a bad mood and want to kill
people.

Serpent
Top Speed: 142MPH/228KPH
Skidpad: 0.98G
Aero Coeff: 0.45
Acceleration: 2.51 Seconds
Power: 430HP V12 DOHC
My Comments: The coolest looking car in the game. Everything else is extremes.
Lowest speed, and second worst skidpad, but best coef and best acceleration. I
like it!

Kamikaze AWD
Top Speed: 142MPH/228KPH
Skidpad: 0.98G
Aero Coeff: 0.45
Acceleration: 2.51 Seconds
Power: 3.3L Twin Turbo
My Comments: Despite its poor skidpad and bad speed, this is the car I use.
Why, you ask? I dunno, good acceleration, nice ramming, and great bouncability
when you ram into things. Sweet coeff as well.

ATV
Top Speed: 147MPH/236KPH
Skidpad: 0.85G
Aero Coeff: 0.25
Acceleration: 3.15 Seconds
Power: 8.2L Turbo Diesel
My Comments: Heh. Instead of honking the horn, this fires a machine gun. Good
for ramming, and great on straightaway courses, but I still don't like it
much. Probably the bad acceleration and catastrophic coeff.

Scarab
Top Speed: 144MPH/231KPH
Skidpad: 1.01G
Aero Coeff: 0.28
Acceleration: 2.88 Seconds
Power: 5L Supercharged V8
My Comments: Feeling a little crazy today? Try this one. Good speed, bad
skidpad, that's a deadly combination. Like the AWD, this has good
bouncability, :)

The Tricks
--------------------------------------------------------------
In the Championship Mode, you are awarded points for two things: Placing and
tricks. You'll find out the placing crap as you go along, but here's the trick
info (note: Some of these aren't "real" tricks, but they're different than
just cruising)

Pop A Wheelie
How To Perform: Tap the acceleration (gas) button twice in rapid succession,
or activate a Nitro.
Points Awarded: 0
Description: Your car wheelies, then speeds forward, providing a momentary
burst of speed.
Coolness Factor (1-5): 1

Two Wheeler
How To Perform: Perform a wheelie while turning sharply.
Points Awarded: 0
Description: Your car balances on its two side wheels, except of course for
the Sardine Extreme.
Coolness Factor (1-5): 1

Flare
How To Perform: Ram into a car from the back or hit the side of an object

half ganer (180 spin). You can usually stick the landing and keep going.
Coolness Factor: 3

Super Heli
How To Perform: Hold back and right or back and left going into a jump.
Occasionally happens if you bounce off two walls in midair on a tight course,
or hit a car.

a 720 spin.
Coolness Factor: 1-3 (depending on how big a spin it was)

Jump Flip

Special Thanks
--------------------------------------------------------------
Well, aside from thanking the makers of this game, there was really no help
for me on this one. The biggest FAQ I had to look at was only 5K. I guess
GameSages gets credit for the 9999 Speed Demon thing. I couldn't get that many
points on a 5 day rental. I hope everyone who's reading this (yes, both of
you) Checks out my Castlevania 64 FAQ, my Zelda 64 FAQ, and my South Park 64
FAQ, all on this great site, www.gamefaqs.com Thank you and goodbye. Hey,
wait a second, E-Mail me your thoughts, I'm at BobDaMunky@Aol.com! There, NOW
I'm done.
