King of Fighters: Ultimate
This FAQ is fictional. It started when my best friend and I were
talking about the ultimate dream fighting machine. So here it is. It
incorporates the King of Fighters '96 fighting system and features
fighters from many video game companies like Capcom, SNK, Midway and
others.
This FAQ contains the storyline, the fighters, the hidden characters,
ending screens and more. I would like for you to e-mail me if you enjoy
this FAQ, for I already have other ideas on the way. Realistically, I
realize that no system could hold this many fighters, and royalties would
be a bitch, but that is why they call it a fantasy.
[Opening Screen]
It has been quiet since the last troubles ended...
Now new troubles begin.

Mad with frustration, the demon-emperor Shao-Khan casts his most
deadliest and forbidden spell, tearing the universe apart.

The result is the Death Gate, a pocket dimension from where Shao-Khan
can launch his new attack on the Earth Realm. The inhabitants swept up in
this cataclysm cower in fear as the invasion begins first at the Death
Gate.

With the fate of many universes hanging in balence, the thunder god
Raiden pleas to Earth's warriors to take part in the struggle against the
Outworld forces...

...while other fighters with their own agenda are swept up in the conflict.

Gaming notes
-----------------
All characters are drawn in excellent 2D anime style for compatibility.
All characters can be mixed to create original teams. All members of one
team must be defeated to move on to the next team. Fighters gain a little
of their life energy after defeating another fighter. The whole team's
ebergy is replenished if they defeat their opposing team. On the home
system there is a data save feature because of the long road to victory.
Characters can only use moves specific to their genre. For example,
only SNK characters can use MAX! moves and have desperation moves, while
only Street Fighter characters have Alphas, Super Combos, Custom combos,
etc.. Only Killer Instinct and Mortal Kombat Trilogy characters can
perform fatalities, and only Samurai Shodown characters have a chance to
cut their opponent in half at the end and can perform weaponbreaker moves.
Not all characters will have power meters.

Three warriors with different pasts but linked in ways they can't begin to
explain. They band together at Raiden's request to save their own realm
from the demonic invasion.
2. Team Earth Realm (Mortal Kombat Trilogy)

The most experienced warriors of the Mortal Kombat tournaments, three
heroes rush to the defense of the Earth Realm. They know failure equals
death.
3. Team Fatal Fury (King of Fighters '96)

Hot on the defeat of Goenitz, the most powerful team earth has to offer
must use every skill and technique to stay alive and defeat Khan. Maybe
this time Joe will be the hero.

Saving the world is no biggee. Apocalypse this week, global crisis the
next, put Mr Sinister down for a late lunch. Shao Who? (Sigh) No prob. Gas
up the Blackbird and let's go kick some demon ass!

The strongest all female team is back. This time two old friends take on
an eager new member to prove that the fairer sex has a wicked left hook.
6. Team Delta Strike

Kitana escapes Outworld and seeks aid from Earth's military. Leona and
Cammy respond after sneaking away from their respective bases. Shao Khan
must fall, but Kitana is pursued by the Outworld team.
7. Team Double Dragon (Double Dragon Series)

The ORIGINAL martial artists return! Two fighting masters team up with the
woman they both love and fought to rescue, now a martial artist herself,
to defeat the demon emperor.
8. Team Killer Instinct (Killer Instinct 2)

They have all faced demons before. Jago learns that it was Khan who
decieved him in the first Killer Instinct conflict by posing as the Tiger
Spirit. Orchid and Sabrewulf join him with their own agendas in mind. Who
can tell what dark fate lies on the horizon.
9. Team Tekken (Tekken 2)

Kazuya's Tekken Tournament never reaches its climax as the demon invasion
begins. This trio are the last contenders in the tournament and it falls
to them to save their world.
10. Team Blitzkreig

Only true evil would join forces to take advantage of an already
cataclysmic situation. But how long can such an unholy alliance last
before it turns upon itself? Time will tell.
11. Team Outworld (MK Trilogy)

Three alien warriors. No compassion. No mercy. No humanity. Khan orders
them to bring back Kitana and slay all who oppose him. But can he control
such elemental spirits such as these?
12. Team Samurai Spirits (Samurai Shodown/Spirits 2)

Cham-Cham (sorry guys, Cham-Cham rules!!!!)
As the trio faces the evil Amakusa Shiro Toksida, the Pagu Pagu stone
takes a life of its own. The heroes are thrown into the distant future
where they must overcome future shock to defeat Khan and return home.
13. Team Final Fight (Final Fight Series)

alley brawl, this one is for the control of the universe!
14. Team Darkstalkers (Night Warriors)

Khan originally approached the Night Warriors to join him. But they saw
his treachery for what it was and decided to take his power for their own.
They fight for no one but themselves.
15. Team Anything Goes Martial Arts (Ranma 1/2 Hard Battle)

The invasion couldn't have come at a worse time. But is there a GOOD time?
Three martial artists learn that Khan may hold the secret to dispelling
the curse of the chinese springs that each is saddled with. Of course,
worst enemies rarely make the best of teams.
The Solo/Hidden Fighters
-------------------------------
Solo fighters are available only through codes, so they are not
available in the original select screen. Each is more powerful than any
other single fighter. It is only possible to mix them into other teams if
all the hidden characters are found and saved. Until then, they face an
entire team by themselves, gaining a significant portion of life after
defeating each warrior. Beating the whole team replentishes their life
meter completely.
1. Shin Akuma (SFA2 or X-Men vs SF)
Wandering across Japan, he is swept up in the conflict. He cares
nothing for saving the Earth. The fight is all. Anyone who gets in his way
will surely die.
2. Noob Saibot (MK Trilogy)
The secret shadow warrior comes out of the mists of mystery. No one
knows why he fights. If they can even see him, it's already too late.
3. Spiral (X-Men: CotA)
Mojo's pet slave escapes Mojo World with her own purposes in mind.
Enigma and power wrapped up into six arms, she will stop at nothing to
reach her hidden goal.
4. Magneto (Marvel Super Heroes or X-Men vs SF)
This world belongs to Magneto. Khan needs a lesson in humility for
daring to challenge his power.
5. Raiden (MK Trilogy)
Khan must be stopped. He has violated the rules for the last time. This
time, the thunder god will not stand on the sidelines.
6. Dan (SFA2, no...I'm not kidding)
"Saiko-ken is all powerful! I can win! I'll bet Khan was behind my
father's death too. FATHERRRRRRRRRR!!!"
Mini Bosses
---------------
From time to time and in between teams, a mini boss will show up to
harrass a team as they travel to battle Khan. They only need to be
defeated in one round.

4. Udean Rugal (Rugal from KOF 95, resurrected as a zombie for Khan)
5. Montaro (MK Trilogy)
6. Pyron (Night Warriors)
7. Happosai (Ranma 1/2 Hard Battle)
8. Juggernaut (Marvel Super Heroes or X-Men vs SF)
Omega Goro
-----------
Before facing Shao-Khan, you must defeat Omega Goro. He looks like Goro
from MK 1 with slight modifications. If defeated on the first round, he
morphs into the more powerful Kintaro. He must be defeated on the third
combat to move on to Khan.
Shao-Khan
----------
The boss of the game. On a narrow bridge, the team faces the demon
emperor. If defeated the first round, he gets back up angrier and more
powerful. The second time he is defeated he gets up AGAIN with 50% of his
life meter full. He is a fearsome opponent and a boss to be feared.
Endings
----------
If you mix a team, you get a generic ending of peace being restored,
dimensions returning to normal, and life going on. But there is an ominous
scene of Khan's shattered helmet glowing among the ruins of his castle
while ominous laughter is heard. If you use a team normally, you get team
specific endings.
1. Team Street Fighter
Broken and powerless, Khan is banished by Raiden upon his defeat by the
Street Fighters. To show his gratitude, Raiden shows the spirits of Gouken
and Chun-Li's father. Both ghosts express their pride in their student's
skills. Chun-li tearily embraces her father while Ken bows to Gouken. But
Ryu is already gone. The past is only something to learn from. With the
crisis over, Ryu seeks new challenges.
2. Team Earth Realm
Khan's immortal body and soul are destroyed forever. Liu Kang returns
to the Shao Lin monastary he rebuilt. Sonya reports to the Outworld
Investigation Agency. Meanwhile Johnny Cage makes a movie of the crisis
that will outsell every movie every made now or in the future. It is a box
office legend that immediately makes an appearance on Mystery Science
Theatre 3000.
3. Team Fatal Fury
This is the team that has battled Orochi and defeated the God of War.
Khan never had a chance. The three heroes promise to meet again in a year
and go their seperate ways. Later, Terry is seen practicing in the Grand
Canyon. He sees he is surrounded by Geese Howard, Wolfgang Krauser and
Laocorn Gaudeamus. Things look bleak until Joe and Andy casually arrive.
Grinning, the heroes throw themselves at the surprised evil bosses as the
credits roll.
4. Team X-Men
Khan is another routine super villian for the likes of the X-Men. They
fly the Blackbird back to the X-Mansion to discover Sentinals have been
busy while they were gone. As the credits roll, each X-Man is seen
battling sentinals. They defeat the robots when using their X-Powers.
5. Team Supreme
The lovely maidens whup-ass on Khan, who can't believe he was beaten by
women. Back at King's night club, King rubs hertemples as her friends get
rip roaring drunk and obnoxious. This is when Dan chooses to enter her bar
and challenge a person looking strikingly like Ryo Sakazaki. She performs
her "Illusion Dance" technique on Dan and knocks him out cold. LAter, Dan
is seen in an apron surrounded by mountains of dishes. King berates him
for upsetting her clientelle. the scene closes on Mai and Sakura, passed
out amid empty beer bottles.
6. Team Delta Strike
Charlie (SFA2), Ralf, Clark and Heiden (KOF 95) are tracking the
movement's of Khan's army when the demons suddenly dissapear. They see a
scene where Kitana thanks her team mates for their aid and leaves for
Outworld. Leona and Cammy shake hands while their shocked comrades look
on.
7. Team Double Dragon/Final Fight
While both games have a history, there is not too much personality
here. Until I can think of a better ending there is one similar to the
mixed team ending. Sorry...
8. Team Killer Instinct
Once Khan is defeated, the spirit of Khan invades Sabrewulf's body to
live again. He kills Orchid, but dies again while fighting Jago who also
dies from his injuries. A grim end for a grim team.
9. Team Tekken
The warriors return to their world where they all fight Kazuya and
defeat him. With Devil beaten, Kazuya is only half the threat. All team
members bow to each other, then leave. Each character's Tekken 2 ending
shows as the credits roll.
10. Team Blitzkreig
Khan's hellish energies flow into the boss characters, making them more
powerful than before. However, they all realize that if they kill their
team mates, their power will be added to their own. They attack each other
but are stalemated. They return their home dimensions and conquer them
with their newfound power. They work to invade their enemies' dimensions
to feed their power lust. Who knows if anything will be left after their
war is over? Will it even end?
11. Team Outworld
They turn on Khan before he can turn on them. Baraka sets himself up as
Emperor of Outworld as Sheeva and Reptile return to their respective
races.
12. Team Samurai Spirits
Returning to their own time, Galford and Haomaru discuss the recent
events. "Did it really happen? It was so strange!" Meanwhile Cham-Cham and
Poppy mumble and nod at each other like they are talking. Amakusa shows up
and threatens all the heroes. Cham-Cham, however, is tired and assualts
Amakusa in her weaponbreaker form and kicks his ass. Everyone else looks
on stunned. Cham-Cham and Poppy run off into the sunset while Galford
yells for her to bring his dog back. Haomaru just drinks some sake.
13. Team Darkstalkers
Morrigan and Raptor feed off Khan's power, becoming more powerful. They
leave to pursue their own dark designs. Felicia pouts because she is all
alone. She brightens up when she sees Blanka. It's true love at first
sight as she goes chasing after him.
14. Team Anything Goes Martial Arts
The rumor of curse breaking turns out to be just that. Raiden makes a
grandiose speech which Ryoga and Mousse ignore as they beat the hell out
of Ranma for lying to them, which he didn't, but no one listens.
15. Akuma
The raging demon kills Khan with his Instant Hell Murder technique.
WHen the dust settles, Akuma still feels empty. In his mind's eye he sees
his greatest battles, but takes no pleasure in them. He continues to
wander, searching for the victory that will stir his spirit. When will he
wake up and see the price he pays for his power?
16. Noob Saibot
The shadow warrior returns to his eclectic brotherhood. He makes his
report. All of Earth's heroes are defeated. We have manipulated Khan
perfectly. No one will oppose OUR invasion.
17. Spiral
Now she has enough power to throw off her chains. She wanders wondering
what to do with her newfound freedom. She sees Akuma wandering, empty. She
smiles devilishly. They are seen talking. Then they walk side by side.
Heaven help anyone who is foolish enough to cross them.
18. Magneto
More X-Men appear to confront Magneto as he stands over the fallen
Khan. Magneto raises his hand and whispers "Shockwave." The screen goes
white. The X-Men are all unconcious. Xavier looks on shocked. "Never look
for me again, Xavier" Magneto threatens. As the credits roll, Magneto
looks at the Earth from Neo-Avalon.
19. Raiden
Earth's heroes couldn't do it. Raiden did. But he is exhausted and
kneeling. Suddenly he is surrounded by monsters and ninjas. Snarling, he
spins on his opponents and assaults them with sheets of lightening as the
Raiden theme from the Immortals plays. "Fools! I am the thunder god. Cross
me at your peril!" Satisfied with their deaths, he returns home with the
furies in balence.
20. Dan
When Dan defeats Khan, the music slurs and slows down. A director comes
from off screen. "What the hell are ya doin'? You're not supposed to win!"
Dan look on confused as a boom mike is seen. Other Street Fighters are
seen at the table snacking in between takes. Khan stands up groggily
nursing a bruise on his noggin. "Now we have to shoot the whole movie
again!" screams the director. All the other fighters shout, "AGAIN!?!"
Akuma Instant Hell Murders Dan who still looks confused but mostly
unconcious. Everyone cheers. The credits roll as everyone chases Dan who
runs through the movie studio at top speed.
