					 CHAPTER 1 : INTRODUCTION
============================================================================================
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1a What is it?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In case you don't know yet, Super Punchout!! is a boxing game made by Nintendo (who
else?), and a superb one at that. The first time I played it was on an SIA 747's
in-flight entertainment system, and I could've sworn I spent at least 9 of the 10
hours of the flight playing it! Anyhow, it's a game you'll certainly enjoy, whether
you're a boxing fan or not!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1b	Why did I write this?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Simple. This FAQ was designed to help those poor players stuck at a particular
character get pass that stage and continue the game. To get the most out of this
FAQ, you should only refer to the part which you require. Go no further than that,
or there will be spoilers! Always try your best BEFORE checking the FAQ. Yes, that
	applies to you especially, Geoffrey.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1c	Who am I?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Er... ask somebody else, check http://campus.fortunecity.com/asbury/388 or contact
me via ICQ ( My UIN is at the top of the FAQ ).

============================================================================================
					 CHAPTER 2 : BASIC TRAINING
============================================================================================
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2a	Punching
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
		  UP LPUNCH -
	  	  o			  ===	 	 ===
		  | | Y |	| X |
	LEFT o--+--o RIGHT	  ===		 ===
		  |			  ===		 ===
		  o | B |	| A |
	      DOWN			  ===		 ===
					RPUNCH KO

Basically, there are 8 different types of punches, as follows :

UP+LPUNCH will give you a left jab NORMAL
UP+RPUNCH will give you a right jab NORMAL
LPUNCH will give you a left body blow NORMAL
RPUNCH will give you a right body blow NORMAL
UP+KO+KO	will give you a rapid uppercut KO PUNCH
UP+KO will give you an uppercut KO PUNCH
KO+KO will give you a rapid hook KO PUNCH
KO will give you a hook KO PUNCH

Punches that connect will build up your KO meter, and you can only use KO Punches
when your KO meter is full ie; When the >S< at the left end of the KO meter glows.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2b	Blocking
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blocking is really quite simple, but most players, especially beginners, tend to
avoid using this tactic. All I can say is that they're paranoid. Blocking is
essential, even to the beginner ( Particularly at Piston Hurricane ). To block
high, simply press UP. Note that this leaves you vunerable to body blows. To block
low, don't press anything. You cannot block low if you have just delivered a punch
or returned from a dodge. Blocking low leaves you vunerable to jabs. Obviously,
there are some moves that can't be blocked, such as uppercuts. These, therefore,
	must be avoided by...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2c	Dodging
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
...the wonderful tactic of dodging. Beginners tend to do this a LOT, which is, in
a way, good, especially for the first two boxers. Dodging simply requires you to
push the D-Pad left or right, to dodge in the direction you wish to go. Pressing
the D-Pad in the opposite direction of your dodge will bring you back to your normal
position more quickly. There is also another form of dodging - ducking. Ducking is
	performed by pressing DOWN.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2d	How to Win
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just remember to use an equal mix of blocking and dodging. Take note of the
opponent's attack style and special attacks. With that, and good timing, it should
be no problem beating the game.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2e	The Scoring System
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NORMAL PUNCHES ( Jabs & Bodyblows ) 30 points each
	COUNTERPUNCHES 100	points each
KO PUNCHES ( Uppercuts & Hooks ) 150	points each
RAPID KO PUNCHES ( Rapid Uppercuts & Rapid Hooks )	80	points each
	KNOCKDOWNS 500 points each
SUPER KNOCKDOWNS ( Knockdowns with a KO Punch ) 1500	points each
	SPECIAL PRIZE *

TECHNICAL POINTS Everything above added up

	STAMINA REMAINING ** ( Maximum of 7200 )
TIME BONUS *** ( From BONUS counter )
	NO REMATCH BONUS 15000

	*	For either avoiding or countering an opponent's special attack or forcing
him into his "Unsteady" state, you get SPECIAL PRIZE points.
**	Depends on how much stamina you have left. If you have 3 full bars of
stamina, you get 7200 points regardless of the circuit. I'm not sure of
the stamina:points ratio though. If anyone has figured it out, please
		send it to me. Thanks!
***	Time Bonus is taken from the BONUS counter in the upper-left corner of the
screen. There are different maximums for different circuits, as follows :-
			Minor Circuit 20000
			Major Circuit 25000
			World Circuit 30000
			Special Circuit 40000

============================================================================================
				 	CHAPTER 3 : YOU - THE PLAYER
============================================================================================
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3a Player Types
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
	BEGINNER
The beginner generally attacks and hardly defends, a bit like Piston Hurricane. He
will go all out to injure the opponent, and takes no notice to any damage he may
sustain. The beginner's tactics work fairly well in the Minor Circuit, normally
noticing how to AVOID attacks, but not how to BLOCK them. He will start having some
trouble coping with the Major Circuit, however, until he changes his tactics to the
	next level.

	AVERAGER
The averager uses an even mix of blocking and dodging, which will be well worth it
in the Major Circuit. Curiously, he will find his tactics nearly useless in the
Minor Circuit. The averager keeps the beginner's thinking about injuring the enemy,
but not without regard of his own safety. The averager will be outmatched by the
World Circuit characters, but will have little trouble adapting to the next level of
	skill.

	VETERAN
The veteran will find it simple to defeat World and Major Circuit opponents, but he
will have trouble dealing with Special and, surprisingly, Minor Circuit opponents.
The veteran will use blocking and ducking a lot, and will pay special attention to
counterpunching. He values the KO Punch, and is likely to be more careful in his
defending once he can use it.

	ACE
The ace will have no trouble dealing with the Minor, Major or World Circuits, and he
should be able to sweep past Narcis Prince and Hoy Quarlow. He will, however, be
soundly defeated by Rick Bruiser. He will mix blocking with counterpunching, and
has superb reflexes ( Which will get him into deeeeeeeeeep trouble with Rick ). He
will be eventually forced to alter his tactics to the next skill level.

	TOP ACE
Top aces will sweep aside the Bruiser twins, and virtually anybody else in any of
the circuits. They will be confident almost to the point of arrogance with their
"perfect" counterpunching, and thus forget to block even when required. He will
probably still remember the importance of dodging and ducking, however. Thus, he
may have trouble with fast attackers like Aran Ryan.

	MR PERFECT
	Mr Perfect will defeat everybody in within 1 second. His name is ** A L W A Y S **
Luke Leong Chee Ming. He uses jabs, bodyblows, KO Punches and rapid KO Punches at
exactly the right moment, and knows every possible move by heart. The ultimate
player, obviously impossible to acheive for all save one person, and a figure we all
should aim to be like. ( CHEER! Everybody CHEER!!! )

			    		CHAPTER 4 : BOXERS - MINOR CIRCUIT
============================================================================================
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4a Gabby Jay
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
	MINOR CIRCUIT #3
	From France
	Age 56
	Weight 110 lbs
	Record 1-99
First Match Let me win. I've lost so many times I forgot how winning feels.
Rematch I like winning! Keep challenging me, it's good for my ego.
Endgame Quote	I'll never retire! I can win at least once more. C'mon!!
	Difficulty Very Easy

	SPECIAL MOVES
	*************
	 	POWER HOOK
Gabby Jay hops to the back of the ring, says "C'mon!", hops to the side, shouts
"C'mon!" again, comes forth and throws a hook. Either dodge this and counter or hit
him with a left body blow just as he is about to throw the hook. The latter will
	knock him down instantly.
		DEFENCE MODE
Gabby goes into this fighting style when his cornerman shouts "Back off, Catch your
breath." Gabby will not attack, dodging and blocking more often. If he stays in
this mode without getting hit too badly, he will step back, say "Yay!", and regain
about one third of his stamina.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4b Bear Hugger
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
	MINOR CIRCUIT #2
	From Canada
	Age 32
	Weight 440 lbs
	Record 17-12
First Match Watch out! I am a killer - I am the Bear Hugger!
Rematch You've come back for another spanking, eh?
Endgame Quote	I've heard someone can beat me in 17 seconds.
	Difficulty Easy

	SPECIAL MOVES
	*************
		BEAR HUG
Bear Hugger uses this attack after blocking your jabs. He lifts his arms, then uses
them to clamp down on your head, removing about one fifth of your stamina. You will
still be hit if you dodge left or right, and it is unblockable. Simply duck then
come up, then keep pounding his face.
		TAUNT
Bear Hugger makes prodding actions at you, producing an irritating "Tweak" sound.
He can be stunned by a body blow while he is doing this.
		ATTACK MODE
Bear Hugger will go into attack mode after his cornerman shouts "Go! Attack him
now!" He will throw normal punches which are easily readable, thus it should be no
problem blocking them. Counterpunching works wonders on him at this point in time.
Note that he still -MAY- use the Bear Hug to counter your jabs if he blocks them, so
keep a watch out for the distinct arm-lifting movement.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4c Piston Hurricane
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
	MINOR CIRCUIT #1
	From Cuba
	Age 25
	Weight 170 lbs
	Record 21-10
First Match Can you ride out the storm or be caught in my "Hurricane Rush"?
Rematch Hmmph!! Don't you know when to give up?
Endgame Quote	My Hurricane Rush must not have worked...
	Difficulty Very Easy

	SPECIAL MOVES
	*************
		HURRICANE RUSH
Piston Hurricane will jump to the side of the ring, growl a bit, then come forward
and attack in this pattern : Jab, Body Blow, Jab, Body Blow, Jab, Body Blow,
Uppercut, Uppercut. Simply block high, low, high, low, high, low, then dodge twice.
After that you can come back and beat the stuffing out of him. You will have to
block six times before he does the uppercut. If you don't block, well...
		IRRITATING MODE
Piston Hurricane will go into his irritating mode as soon as his cornerman shouts
"Show him your fancy footwork." He will alternate between jabs and body blows,
jumping left or right in between punches. Every once in a while he will taunt.
That's your cue to counter. He does not block or dodge while in this mode.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4d Bald Bull
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
	MINOR CIRCUIT CHAMPION
	From Turkey
	Age 36
	Weight 290 lbs
	Record 34-19
First Match You'll be down for the count with one punch from my "Bull Charge".
Rematch You've got a lot of guts to challenge me again!
Endgame Quote	Don't be so proud. I pulled my punches when we fought.
Difficulty Easy ( Moderate on 3rd round )

	SPECIAL MOVES
	*************
		BULL CHARGE
Bald Bull hops to the back of the ring, then comes forth and delivers a huge
uppercut that will knock you down with one hit. Dodge and counter, or give him a
body blow just before he punches. The latter will put him down with one hit, but is
REALLY difficult to do unless you have excellent timing, and is also very risky, for
if you don't get him down in that hit, HE will get you down.
		TAUNT PUNCH
Bald Bull bobs his head from side to side, then follows with two jabs and a ^weak^
uppercut. It's no problem, really, just block high twice, then dodge and counter.
Alternatively, you can counterpunch his jabs to stun him.
		AGRESSIVE MODE
Bald Bull goes into agressive mode after his cornerman says "Counter-Attack!" after
he goes down for the second time. Bald Bull will then do a series of Bull Charges.
Take note how many hops he takes - he will sometimes take two instead of three.
Just give him a body blow at the right moment, and he'll go down for a TKO.

============================================================================================
			   		 CHAPTER 5 : STRATEGIES - MINOR CIRCUIT
============================================================================================
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5a Gabby Jay
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You really don't need this, but I'll just put this in so that the FAQ seems complete
and full. His punches can be read with ease, so just counterpunch and keep picking
up those 100 points. When you get the KO Punch, just keep pressing the A key. He's
WAAAAAAY too slow to dodge, counter or block, so it should finish him quite quickly.

	TARGETS

	Superb < 5 seconds
	Very Good < 8 seconds
	Good < 15 seconds
	Bad < 25 seconds
	Terrible > 25 seconds
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5b Bear Hugger
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bear Hugger is terribly simple if you know how to beat him. For fast times, jab,
duck under his Bear Hug, and jab him until he blocks again. Repeat until you get
the KO Punch. Once you get it, STOP JABBING IMMEDIATELY and do a rapid uppercut.
He will then go into Attack Mode. Simply jab, duck under his Bear Hug, then finish
him off with the rapid uppercut. The end.

	TARGETS
	*******
	Superb < 10 seconds
	Very Good < 20 seconds
	Good < 30 seconds
	Bad < 45 seconds
	Terrible > 45 seconds
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5c Piston Hurricane
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Piston Hurricane is either very easy or very irritating. Alternate between jabs and
body blows until he goes into his unsteady state. DO NOT use your KO Punches even
if you have them before he goes unsteady. Give him a nice big hook just as he is
coming back into position and WHAM! He his the mat. This should take no longer
than 3 seconds. He should be counted to 8 or 9. When he gets up, perform a hook
	and he should be finished

	TARGETS
	*******
	Superb < 5 seconds
	Very Good < 10 seconds
	Good < 15 seconds
	Bad < 40 seconds
	Terrible > 40 seconds
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5d Bald Bull
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bald Bull is no problem if you know his weakness. Keep dodging and countering ( NOT
counterpunching ) his punches; he takes insane damage from your right body blows.
Do this until you get your KO Punch, then dodge and counter using an uppercut. When
he goes down twice, he'll start to "Counter Attack", watch him hop back two steps,
and keep your hand on the right body blow. Press the button after he takes his
second hop FORWARD and he should go down for the Technical Knock Out.

	TARGETS

============================================================================================
			   		 CHAPTER 6 : BOXERS - MAJOR CIRCUIT
============================================================================================
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6a Bob Charlie
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
	MAJOR CIRCUIT #3
	From Jamaica
	Age 26
	Weight 140 lbs
	Record 24-13
First Match People who can't feel the rhythm are so lost. Do you have the
				rhythm?
Rematch Hey you! You don't seem to have the rhythm.
Endgame Quote	Hey mon! Let's have fun once more!
	Difficulty Moderate

	SPECIAL MOVES
	*************
	 	SPIN PUNCH
Bob Charlie walks back, goes "Hoo hoo", sometimes twice, then comes forth with a
triple spinning uppercut. The first two will miss completely regardless of what you
do, but the third will do A LOT of damage... about one third of your stamina. I'm
saying a lot only because he uses this quite a bit.
		SHOCK COMBO
Bob will cover and uncover his head then deal two body blows in quick succession.
Block low twice, then smash his brains out.
		ANNOYING MODE
After his cornerman shouts "Bob, time to shuck and jive!", Bob Charlie will start to
get really really really annoying. Every once in a while he'll pull his punches and
follow up with a counter to your counterpunch or take advantage of your "stunned"
period. His punches get much quicker, and he uses the Shock Combo a lot more
frequently. He may also throw a body blow, and not follow up, which is really
annoying, as you'll probably dodge in anticipation of an uppercut, thus leaving
	yourself open to counters.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6b Dragon Chan
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
	MINOR CIRCUIT #2
	From Hong Kong
	Age 22
	Weight 130 lbs
	Record 15-7
First Match You will find yourself face down... when you wake up.
Rematch Same results every time. The world of fighting is a harsh one,
				isn't it?
Endgame Quote	When I woke up... It was me lying on the mat.
	Difficulty Moderate/Hard

	SPECIAL MOVES
	*************
		DRAGON DEATH
Pathetically stupid, but lethal notheless. Dragon jumps up onto one turnbuckle,
screams "Hiyah!", jumps the other turnbuckle, shouts "Hiyah!" again, then comes down
with a ridiculous looking kick which deals instant death. Utterly annoying,
especially since he does this several times per match. Duck to avoid, but do NOT
counter unless you're absolutely sure he won't do another one.
		TRIPLE KICK
Dragon will perform this move when his cornerman shouts "long ge san lian wu", which
translates to "Brother Dragon triple circular dance", which more or less indicates
"Triple Kick". Dragon leaps up, does a kick that takes off one third of your
stamina, and repeats it two more times. Dodge on the opposite side of his kick to
	avoid it.
		INNER HEALING
Dragon's cornerman says "feng nong fan tu fan", translated will be "Cast your wounds
in the wind" or something like that. Dragon will stand, flicker, and regain about
one quarter of his stamina. He's completely vunerable at this point but I highly
reccomend AGAINST attacking him - he'll come back with Dragon Death if you do.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6c Masked Muscle
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
	MINOR CIRCUIT #1
	From Mexico
	Age 29
	Weight 240 lbs
	Record 19-5
First Match You should give up now seńor.
Rematch Cheater? I don't know what you're talking about, amigo.
Endgame Quote	Have your bruises healed yet Amigo?
	Difficulty Moderate

	SPECIAL MOVES
	*************
		DOUBLE HEADBUTT
Insanely stupid looking, but also insanely potent, Masked Muscle's double headbutt
takes off about two thirds of your stamina, one third with each hit. Dodge to avoid
this attack, and HOLD your dodge, lest you risk getting hurt by the second hit. He
can be passed out if you punch him at the exact frame before his first headbutt. I
don't reccomend it, though. It's safer to dodge and counter.
		BLINDING SPIT
Whenever Masked Muscle's cornerman exclaims "Spit in his eyes!", Masked Muscles will
rear his ( ugly ) head, and expectorate ( spit ) right in your face, blinding you if
he hits. Don't dodge too soon - the spit stays there a while. Begin your dodge as
Masked Muscle throws his head back. You cannot counterpunch this move, but you can
get in a LOT of punches if you stun him right after.
		SHIVER COMBO
Masked Muscle's glove is raised and shivering. He's about to deal a two-punch combo
that should be no problem unless you still have your beginner's mentality about the
technique of blocking being big, bad and evil. Simply block his jab ( block high ),
then block his body blow ( block low ). Should be no problem and it also leaves
loads of space for you to counter.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6d Mr Sandman
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
	MINOR CIRCUIT CHAMPION
	From United States of America
	Age 28
	Weight 230 lbs
	Record 29-3
First Match Had your goodnight kiss? 'Cause I'm about to put you down for the
	 			night.
Rematch I hate holding back. This time I won't hesitate to use all my power
				on you.
Endgame Quote	Ready for your nap now? I demand a rematch!
	Difficulty Fairly Hard

	SPECIAL MOVES
	*************
		SAND COMBO
Mr Sandman moves his gloves up and down, in front of his face, twice, then throws
two quick jabs and follows up with a strong, unblockable punch. Block the jabs and
dodge the punch, that's all there is to it. Counter quickly - Mr Sandman recovers
from his stunned mode very quickly.
		TRICUT PREVIEW
In the first two rounds, if Mr Sandman drums his feet, prepare for a strong uppercut
that's sort of a preview to the Tricut ( Covered later ). Simply dodge, then
counter with all you've got! It's going to be one of the few chances you have to
give Mr Sandman a good, hearty UPPERCUT!
		TRICUT
The move we ( Most of us, anyway ), love to hate and hate to love. Performed in the
third round after Mr Sandman's cornerman cries "Give him full power now, Champ!".
Mr Sandman, after drumming his feet, will throw three strong uppercuts, somewhat
similar to the one in the Tricut Preview, only this time in quick succession. Dodge
them one by one; this takes a bit of practise. I reccomend ducking - it's faster.

7a Bob Charlie
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bob is not a problem if you can read his punches. If you want an easy victory, just
keep using body blows. Bob takes high damage from jabs, and mad damage from the
uppercut. He's fast at recovering though; often too fast for you to pull an
uppercut on him, so just stay on hooks until you've got turbo speed. Then it's time
to start pummeling him with uppercuts.

7b Dragon Chan
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dragon's lightning speed punches gets one down and out pretty quickly. Unless you
can dodge them. Blocking doesn't do very much, as Dragon follows up too quickly for
you to counter. Dodging, on the other hand, allows time for you to punch him, and
possibly stun him ( If you're smart enough to deal a body blow ). Just don't forget
to duck at Dragon Death, dodge at the Triple Kick and blast, then duck at Inner
Healing ( I noticed that last part contradicts with what I said earlier about not
attacking while he's doing Inner Healing... use your better judgement, it's your
choice; it can go both ways! ). Repeat the process until you knock him out; there
isn't very much variation to his moves.

uppercut, Shiver Combo. Now that you know all this, it should be no problem to
counter. Do NOT counterpunch. As soon as you get the KO Punch, counter his punches
with the hook. Use the uppercut to put him down on the mat. Continue this, and if
you use a KO Punch EVERY time, you'll knock him out after two knockdowns.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mr Sandman's pretty easy the first two rounds - just keep dodging and countering.
Keep in mind that it takes him a while to start throwing his uppercuts, so don't
begin your dodge too soon. After he starts to "Give you full power", he'll start
with a left body blow. Dodge and counter, preferably with a hook. Then he'll do a
Tricut. Duck three times REALLY QUICKLY. If he does the Sand Combo, it's even
better; just block high twice, duck, deal a body blow, and then uppercut. Easy as

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
	WORLD CIRCUIT #3
	From Ireland
	Age 23
	Weight 160 lbs
	Record 18-10
First Match Your wimpy little punches won't even faze me.
Rematch All I have to do is stop your KO Punches and this match will easily
				be mine.
Endgame Quote	Oooh! You're the first with such heavy punches.
	Difficulty Moderate

	SPECIAL MOVES
	*************
		KO DRAIN
Aran will perform this move after you successfully KO Punch him, when his cornerman
shouts "Grab him!". He will stare angrily, lift his hands and put them down again,
then bend down and grab you, draining your stamina. The drain CANNOT knock you
down. He will, however, follow up with an uppercut that CAN knock you down. There
is no way to avoid this move once he bends down, but it is possible to knock him out
of it. Just punch him in the torso as he raises his hands. It's even easier if you
have a KO Punch ( and obviously you do ). Simply do a hook immediately after you
deal your KO Punch, then deal another hook once that is done, and the timing will be
all nicely done for you. He WILL attempt to grab you again, so just repeat this; it
is actually possible to keep blasting him with KO Punches as soon as you get one in.
Aran will not perform the KO Drain if you use rapid punches.
		IRISH RUSH
Aran runs to the side of the ring, makes the sound Piston Hurricane makes when he's
about to do the Hurricane Rush, then comes forth and punches in this pattern, really
quickly and consecutively : Body Blow, Jab, Body Blow, Jab, Body Blow, Jab,
Uppercut, Jab, Body Blow, Jab, Body Blow, Jab, Body Blow, Uppercut. Then he sort of
freezes for a second or so, allowing you that "Time Window" to retaliate. Just keep
blocking, dodge when the uppercut comes, and then repeat. When he pauses, deal a
body blow to stun him. After that, just punch his lights out.

Rematch Uh oh! Is it you again?
Endgame Quote	You are so strong. Hoo, hoo, hoo, hooo.
	Difficulty Moderate/Hard

	SPECIAL MOVES
	*************
		HEIKE'S SWEEP
Heike bends down, gloves over his face, then sweeps his hair over in rapid succesion
twice. Each hit takes off about 3/8 of your stamina, thus this is a move you will
want to avoid. To do so, dodge left at the first sweep, then duck under the second.
Smash his solar plexus with a body blow after to stun him, then you can blast him
	with all you've got.
		DUAL SMASH
Heike crouches, gloves over his face, but smiling this time. He stands up, throws
two body blows, and follows with a huge uppercut. Block low twice and dodge, then
counter. Be wary, though, this looks suspiciously like Heike's Sweep.
		DUAL SNAP
Heike dances left and right, smiling like a maniac, then throws two quick jabs,
finishing with an uppercut. Block high twice, dodge and counter. Heike normally
	follows up with Heike's Sweep.
		MIRAGE DANCE
"Show him the mirage dance." Heike's cornerman will cry, and Heike starts
teleporting all over the screen, making him very difficult to hit. Use left jabs if
you plan to knock him out; they have the fastest recovery time. As soon as he comes
out of this, he will execute one of his attacks. Keep a close eye on them, he will
either throw one of his special attacks or an uppercut. Every once in a while he
deals a short combo : right body blow, left body blow, right jab, left jab. It
shouldn't be too much of a problem to block. Dodging will be murder, though. As
soon as you're done avoiding his attack, stun ( with a Body Blow ) and counter.

	Record 17-9
First Match Welcome! Now let's get this show on the road.
Rematch Huh? Don't you like my show?
Endgame Quote	Go home! The show is over.
	Difficulty Moderate

	SPECIAL MOVES
	*************
		BRAIN SQUASH
Mad Clown will perform the Brain Squash when he starts to bob his head left and
right, bringing his arms down in a Bear Hug-gish action, taking off about half of
your stamina ( OUCH ). He will then throw you to the side and deal a tremendous
uppercut, which removes about one third of your stamina ( Double OUCH ). Duck to
avoid the squash, and he won't follow up with the uppercut. If you DO get caught by
it, however, jam the buttons as hard as you can, and as soon as he lets you go, make
sure you have your finger ready on either the left or right directional buttons, and
dodge the uppercut. If you manage to avoid the squash, just retaliate in the same
way you would if it was the Bear Hug - keep jabbing him. If you get caught by the
squash, but dodge the uppercut, jab in the direction of his uppercut to counter.
		MAD CIRCUS
Mad Clown backflips to the back of the ring and start juggling some cute little red
balls, then throws them in twos. There are only three possible places where he can
throw them - left, centre or right. Dodge where there are no balls or be hit (DUH).
Ducking will not help you avoid them ( Unless there isn't a ball in the centre ).
When he's thrown three sets of two balls. he somersaults forth and delivers a very
Brain Squash-ish attack that WILL KILL YOU INSTANTLY. ( Yeesh! ) Duck under this
and jab him 'till he's out of his stunned state or down for the count.
		CIRCUS SLAP
Mad Clown feigns an uppercut, then comes back in the opposite direction with a huge
and very damaging slap. Dodge in the opposite direction of the slap or duck to
avoid the slap. Alternatively, you can jab him in the direction of his slap just
after he feigns his uppercut to put him in his stunned state. After doing either,
stun him with a jab ( If he's not already stunned ) and counter with more jabs or
	( even better ) uppercuts.
		RETURN OF THE CLOWN
Okay, so it's a stupid name for a move. Anyhow, if Mad Clown DODGES your jabs, get
ready to dodge or drop your guard; he's going to throw a strong body blow that takes
off about one fifth of your stamina. Counter if you wish, but he'll recover too
quickly for you to perform an uppercut unless you're in turbo speed.
		INSANE MODE
Mad Clown will go into insane mode after he gets up for the second time, when his
cornerman shouts "Show Time!" He will follow with this mix of moves : three Jabs,
Body Blow, three Jabs, Uppercut, two Jabs, two Circus Slaps. He will NOT continue
to be in insane mode after he knocks you down ( IF he does, anyway ). As far as I
know, the only way to get him out of insane mode ( BESIDES letting yourself get
knocked down ) is to counterpunch his jabs ( OR knock HIM out, of course ).

	Record 29-3
First Match Make sure to stand clear while I pose for my fans.
Rematch Fighting hurts my gorgeous body, but trashing wimps makes it all
				worthwhile.
Endgame Quote	I'll have to train a bit more. Maybe I'll start with my abs...
Difficulty Hard ( Tedious, actually )

	SPECIAL MOVES
	*************
		SWIRL PUNCH
Super Machoman glares at you, and his glove starts to shiver, and makes a wide
horizontal punch that takes off about five eights of your stamina. Duck under it -
it cannot be dodged. He will freeze temporarily when the punch is over, his back
facing you, so you can give him a nice big hook in the a***.
		TURBO SWIRL PUNCH
Super Machoman holds his fist up, facing away from you, then makes a 360 degree
punch that cannot be dodged three or four times. Duck them one by one, and when
he's done, Super Machoman freezes for a moment, slightly longer than if he does
a Swirl Punch. Enough time to deal him an uppercut. It's still more fun to use a
hook though - the sound is more satisfying.
		EXERCISE PROGRAM A
When Super Machoman's cornerman shouts "Exercise Program A!", Super Machoman will
throw a combo of four jabs. Just block high and hold your guard until the jabs are
over. Once you can hit by ONE, you cannot avoid the rest, and they're too fast for
you to dodge all of them. Block and counter with a body blow first to stun, then
whatever you want - he will block jabs and uppercuts just after he has finished the
	exercise program.
		EXERCISE PROGRAM B
When Super Machoman's cornerman shouts "Exercise Program B!", Super Machoman will
throw a combo of three body blows. Block low and don't counter or move until he's
done with all three of them. Again you cannot allow yourself to be hit by even one,
or you won't be able to block the rest. They are, once again, too fast for you to
dodge all of them. Block and counter with a jab first to stun, then whatever you
want - he will block body blows and hooks just after he has finished the exercise
	program.
		EXERCISE PROGRAM C
When Super Machoman's cornerman shouts "Exercise Program C!", Super Machoman will
throw a combo of three uppercuts. Dodge them like you would Mr Sandman's Tricut.
Just keep in mind that they're a lot faster. Counter by stunning with a body blow,
then follow up with whatever you want.

If you don't use KO Punches, you will find time your enemy - once three minutes is

KO Punch, and use the anti-KO Drain strategy above to trash him.

============================================================================================
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10a How...?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh, you're still in the dark. Well, to access the Special Circuit, you MUST get a
4-0 record for the Minor, Major and World Circuits. As in ALL three of them. Not
so hard with a bit of practise. Note that you MUST do this in Championship Mode,
and not Time Attack mode. Even if you beat everybody without getting hit at all in
all three circuits in Time Attack mode, but your records for the three circuits are
	4-1, 4-1, 4-1, or even 4-0, 4-0, 4-1, you still won't be able to access the Special
Circuit ( Even though you see it in the Championship Mode select screen, as it will
be greyed out ). You must then go into Championship Mode and replay the problematic
circuit until you get 4-0 records for all of the first three circuits.

Endgame Quote	Oh, you! You've punched me face. Come 'ere now!!
	Difficulty Easy/Moderate

	SPECIAL MOVES
	*************
		NARCISSUS COMBO
The Narcissus Combo is performed by Prince when he starts flickering. He will throw
three jabs, then leave himself vunerable to stunning. He won't use the Narcissus
Combo if he's angry. ( I can picture you wondering how to know when he's angry... )
		NOT DEAD YET
Narcis Price does this move after dodging your punches. He will rear back and come
back with a huge punch. The damage it does depends on the timer. The later the
time, the more damage it does. This move drains your stamina ( As in Narcis Prince
will GAIN stamina ). Narcis Prince won't use this move if he's angry.
		CALM WAVE
Narcis Prince's cornerman will shout "Stay calm, matey." and Narcis Prince will stop
being angry, increasing his defence and decreasing his offence. Simple as that.

	STRATEGY
	********
Narcis Prince isn't THAT hard to beat... if you managed to get to the Special Circuit,
he should be pretty routine for you. Just remember this little trick to get him
angry : Dodge his uppercuts or block the Narcissus Combo, then counter with a body
blow. He'll be in his stunned state. Now give him a JAB. It's going to be the only
time while he's in his calm mood when you can punch him in the face. He'll turn red,
run to the back and come running forward, grabbing his face. Prince will be really
fast now, so keep working on those reflexes. There are three ways he can return to
his calm state : his cornerman uses the Calm Wave, or either you or he gets knocked
down. When he's angry, dodge his punches and KO Counter. He should be down and out
	quite quickly.

	SPECIAL MOVES
	*************
		STAFF SWING PREQUEL
Hoy lifts his staff, then does three high attacks and follows with a low. Block high
thrice then drop your guard. Return with a RIGHT jab followed by a left body blow.
Hoy will block your body blows and hooks immediately after he uses the Staff Swing
	Prequel.
		STAFF SWING
Hoy swings his staff across his chest, which makes swishing sounds. He follows with a
set of three high attacks, then pauses VERY briefly ( Not enough time to counter ),
and follow up with three more high attacks, then attacks you with two low attacks, and
repeats with another two low attacks. Block high six times, then drop your guard.
When he's done, retaliate with a jab, then alternate your body blows in the direction
	Hoy is.
		STAFF SWING REVAMPED
Hoy swings his staff across his legs, again making swishing sounds. He starts with two
low attacks, then follows with three high attacks, continuing with two more low attacks,
and finishing with three high attacks. Counter with a body blow in the opposite
direction of Hoy's last high attack, and alternate your body blows.
		DRAGOON'S STAFF
Hoy makes a very Dragoon-ish leap to either the right or left side of the top of the
ring, and slashes down with his staff ( Cane, or whatever you want to call it ). He
may fake the hit, and will continue until he has struck four times. Hoy can only fake
a hit once in a row. Counter with body blows after he has struck four times. I believe
you can counterpunch the Dragoon's Staff by using a body blow just as Hoy lifts the
staff	to hit you. I haven't tried it out myself, though.
		DOUBLE STING
Hoy will throw a single high punch that hurts quite a bit, then follows with a 270 degree
swing punch, which hurts even more. Block high and duck to be safe, but it is possibe to
counterpunch BOTH parts of the Double Sting.
		FLYING SIDE KICK
Hoy points his staff down, then uses it as a vaulting pole and does a straight, vertical
kick. Hurts quite a lot, so yuo might want to DODGE ( NOT duck ) it. It seems to be
unblockable and doesn't seem to be counterpunchable. Dodge and counter.

	STRATEGIES
	**********
Hoy will always begin the match with a Staff Swing Prequel, follow up with a body blow,
then a Double Sting. With the stuff above, it should be no problem avoiding and then
countering. He will probably follow up with the Flying Side Kick, so ready yourself.
If he does, he'll probably continue with the Dragoon's Staff. If he doesn't do either,
he is more likely than not to use one of his special moves. Hoy introduces the concept
of alternate punching. When stunned, he will fall to the opposite side of the punch you
hit him with, so you must punch with your other hand to hit. Pay close attention to this
concept - apparantly Nick Bruiser uses this too ( GASP!! ).

	SPECIAL MOVES
	*************
		REVENGE FLARE
If Rick throws his head back after getting hit off guard by ANY of your punches,
including your KO Punches, prepare to block high, as he'll return with a strong jab.
Not much to counter, so don't bother, just block and get ready to avoid his next
	attack.
		RICK'S KILLER
Rick goes to the back of the ring, and comes down with both hands up. When he lands,
you will freeze. Rick then follows with an uppercut that will put you down on the mat
if it connects. Dodge JUST before he lands and HOLD IT THERE!!! Counter with body
blows and, if you can, uppercuts and hooks. If you do either of the KO Punches, get
ready to block the Revenge Flare.
		BRUISER COMBO #1
Rick flickers in and out, the starts with a body blow, a jab then finishes with an
uppercut, block high, block low, then dodge. Oh, and don't forget to counter. Get
ready to block the Revenge Flare if you counter with a KO Punch.
		ARM SMASH
If Rick shivers when he blocks your punch, prepare to dodge in the direction of your
punch ( If you punched with your right hand, go left and vice versa ), as he'll bring
his elbow down on the hand that he blocked, putting it out of commision for about ten
to fifteen seconds. It will glow purple during that period of time, and you cannot
attack with that hand. Rick will only do the Arm Smash on one arm at a time.
		DOUBLE DRAGON PUNCH
Rick will bring his arm up as an uppercut, then let it come crashing down again.
Dodge twice - both take off about one third of your stamina. Again, don't miss the
chance to counter. I don't think you can counterpunch this.

	STRATEGY
	********
Dodge and counter. Irritating but it SEEMS to be the simplest way to beat him. Watch
out for his Revenge Flare. Rick ALWAYS uses Revenge Flare after you nail him with a
KO Punch, so be prepared to block after you hit him with one. He's vunerable to a lot
of countering and stunning, so don't miss the chance to. Don't use uppercuts unless
you have turbo speed; he's much too fast for them. With all this, he shouldn't be too

not an instant death attack, but it's close enough )
		DRAGON PUNCH
Nick bends over slightly, then throws a straight uppercut which is very very damaging
and looks somewhat similar to Rick's Double Dragon Punch, only this time Nick only
throws one uppercut. Enough time for an uppercut with turbo speed if you stun him
	quickly enough.
		BRUISER COMBO #2
Nick shakes himself left and right, and you hear a cannon shot ringing in the back.
Prepare yourself for Nick's killer combo. He will punch low, high, low, high, low,
high, low, high, low, high, low, high, uppercut. Blocking the punches will hurt you,
like if an opponent blocks your KO Punches. Try this little trick, though, which will
probably see you through if you have at least one quarter of a bar of stamina. Block
the first body blow, return quickly with a left body blow. Nick will skip the jab, and
continue with the next body blow. Repeat until you have returned his punches six times,
then dodge his uppercut and counter. Your KO meter should be quite full by then, and
it's more or less safe to throw an uppercut.
		NICK'S KILLER
Nick Bruiser has a killer attack, which he performs as he walks to the back of the ring,
then comes forth with a hard downward blow which knocks you out instantly if it connects.
Dodge the blow; he will follow up with two strong jabs. Duck under both and you have a
huge time window to thank Nick for the friendly gesture.
		ARM CRASH
Similar to Rick Bruiser's Arm Smash, only it lasts for about twenty to thirty seconds,
and Nick won't hesitate to crash out BOTH your hands if he has to. This makes Nick very
hard to defeat, as you need to use alternate punching on him.

	STRATEGIES
	**********
Nick starts in a half-frozen state. Deal him two right jabs, then counter his punch. Be
sure to be accurate about it - that punch does a lot of damage. Then follow with the
tactic you used with Rick. Watch out for Nick's Killer; Nick usually uses it when he's
behind by more than half a bar of stamina and your KO Meter is full or nearly full.

					CHAPTER 11 : SPECIALIZED TRAINING
============================================================================================
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
11a Counterpunching
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Irritating, takes a while to master, but nonetheless vital if you intend to get good
times, counterpunching is one of the most difficult tactics to master. You get 100
points every time you successfully counterpunch, so it also helps you get higher
scores. I'm not going to say too much about counterpunching, as I'm not great at it
myself. Also, I would spoil the game for you if I explained it wrongly. If anyone
out there is really confident with his ( or her ) counterpunching and thinks he ( or
she ) knows how to explain it well, just mail me at firehawk39@hotmail.com or contact
me via ICQ ( My UIN is on the top of this FAQ ) and tell me the whole story.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
11b Making full use of KO Punches
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A missed KO Punch leaves you vunerable to a counter attack, so make sure you use KO
Punches only when you're sure that they will connect. Guard your KO Meter - KO
Punches are essential to get good times. Note that uppercuts take a longer time to
charge than hooks, so use them only after you've knocked your victim out of a nasty
attack, or if you have turbo speed. Rapid Punches are fast, but they only work well
in the Minor Circuit, so don't use them after the Minor Circuit too often. The Rapid
Uppercut works wonders on Bear Hugger, though.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
11c Countering
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ah, the art of countering. Countering is more effective after dodging. Deal a body
blow to most opponents to stun them, then give them more body blows - they generally
do more damage than jabs. There's not much more to say about it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
11d Timer - The Passive Enemy
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Getting best times isn't the only reason to watch the timer. If the timer reaches
three minutes, you automatically lose the match, regardless of the state of the game.
You may have three full bars of stamina and one jab away from dealing a technical
knock out on the opponent, but once the timer hits three minutes, you lose. So watch
the timer, and use KO Punches when you're confident enough. Don't allow caution to
get the better of you. Attack when you can! Finish the opponent off as quickly as
possible. Don't be a victim of the ( dreaded ) timer.

Try these challenges, they're arranged in order of difficulty, from easiest to hardest
obviously. If you've finished any of them, you can consider yourself an expert, if
you can do more than five of them, then you're one of the best. If you can do more
than nine, you're the best of the best! Good luck!
