1.Pitching=
X= Pitch inside the strike zone
Circle= Cancel pitch. Throw a ball
Square+base pick off= Pick off a runner. Walk a batter
Down+pitch= Low pitch which usually is a strike or foul
Up+pitch= High pitch which sometimes causes homeruns or fouls
Left+pitch= Pitch at the left side of the strike zone
Right+pitch= Pitch at the right side of the strike zone
a) Strike out the Computer=
There is an easy way of striking the computer just like in MLB
2000. All you need is a pitcher with a rapid fastball and a
devastating curve ball (and don't forget the Change up. ˇI love a
good change up!). For right handed pitchers it will be easy to strike out
right handed batters. The same goes for Left handed pitchers and batters.
Here's the thing, throw a rapid fastball to your opposite side way outside
the strike zone. If the computer swings at it it's a strike. If they don't
your second pitch should be a rapid fastball to the same opposite side but
this time do it inside the strike zone. The'll swing and miss, or look at it
and watch the umpire call it a strike. With some practice you'll know when
to throw a ball and a strike. You can keep the computer guessing if you
use a hard slider like Randy Johnson's and Greg Maddux's.
.What if they don't swing and I keep walking the batter?
Well you probably suck. Just kidding, the best thing to do is to
use the curve ball and the change up(yes it's time). Throw a high
curve ball or change and keep pressing up and X on your controller
until you see the pitcher release the ball. If you do it in just the
right moment it will probably be foul or the batter will swing and
strike out ala Curt Schilling.
b) Strike out a human opponent=
You'll need a good change, a curve ball and a slider. First of all
you should always throw a change which is a ball all the way down
to the catcher's feet. They won't notice the difference between a ball
and a strike if you pitch low on the strike zone.
After a while, the'll start to watch the ball go by and you'll most
likely walk them. To avoid this use the press and release trick I
told you with the curve ball.
You can also keep them guessing with inside sliders which are rather
hard to make contact.
.What about sinkers and splitfingers?
Keep pitching low with these too. Also if you want to change you
attack pattern throw sinkers and splitfingers up on the strike zone and
make them go down really fast for a cool strik out.
.Knucklers and Screwgies?
No word on that. They're really hard to hit, and it's a bitch when your
friends master this.

X= Tap quickly to run faster
Square= Jump
Square+d-pad= Diving catch
Square+up= Rob a homerun, climb the fence

a) How to hit homeruns=
Press up/left or up/right and swing with hit power. Not to
late. Not to early. And you should leave the batter where he is
and try to not move him. That's his stand and that's how he knows
how to bat.

4.Cheat codes
Homerun=
While batting up, hold all four shoulder buttons then press Triangle,
Square, Triangle, Circle, X, Square, Left, Right.
Strikeout=
When pitching, press and hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 and while holdin these
buttons, press Up, Down, Triangle, Square, Triangle, Circle, X, Square.
Batter Information=
While playing either field or batter, hold all four shoulder buttons
and press Left, Square, Up, Triangle. The announcers will start describing
the batters in greater detail.
Manual Camera=
While playing, hold all four shoulder buttons (L1+R1+L2+R2), then press
Right, Left, Up, Down, Right, Left.
Old Rosters=
At the team selection screen, ppress and hold CIRCLE then press Up, Up,
Up, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, X. You will get the old rosters if you
select them.
EA Dream Team=
In an exhibition (single) game, while selecting a team keep pressing Left and
then Right on the Direction Pad until you hear a noise and the EA Sports logo
appears where the team used to be.
Baseball History=
While playing either field or batter, hold all four shoulder buttons
and press Up, Triangle, Right, Circle until you hear a "thump" which confirms
the code. If done correctly, the announcers will talk about something that
happened in baseball history.
Homerun Sounds=
When you hit a homerun and are shown running around the bases press Triangle
or Square to hear air horns or press Circle to hear whistles.
Lobster Head=
When playing at Bank One Ballpark, if you hit a home run to center field and
hit the lobster cola sign you will turn into a lobster. Or at least your head
will.
Weather Talk=
While playing either field or batter, hold all four shoulder buttons and
press X, Down, Triangle, Up. The announcers will randomly discuss the weather.
Play as Hulk Hogan=
At the main menu, hit Circle, Triangle, Square, and then all four shoulder
buttons simultaneously. You should hear a girl's laugh.
Super Stadiums=
Go to CREATE A PLAYER and enter your name as "yellow stone". Every stadium
will double in length from home plate to the wall. All of the fence's will
the size of the Green Monster, from the leftfield corner to the rightfield
corner.
Trivia=
While playing either field or batter, hold all four shoulder buttons
and press Down, X, Right, Circle. The announcers will exchange trivia.
